I traveled with my directors to Atlantic City to support our Miss Connecticut, Stacy Perrone. At the trade show, I got to talk with the late Bernie Wayne's wife. As some of you may know, he was the writer of the Miss America theme song. I also had the pleasure of being judged by him in one of the Miss Richmond preliminaries a few years ago!
Just back from tour and I am competing for Miss New England. I was 1st Runner-Up the day before in the talent competition. Today, I take home the title of Miss New England!
My last appearance as Ms. Petite Connecticut was at the Milford Oyster Festival with photographer Catherine Fiehn. I was so happy to be there taking pictures, signing autographs and enjoying the fun. And all of that after breaking my toe that morning! Oh well, wrap the toe and the show must go on!
Yeah, um, that's sort of like one of my nicknames...
Yup, that's me and Amy in a fighter copter. It was sooo hot we got burnt getting in and out! Wearing our Kevlars and Flaks in our Humvee on the way to a show!
The next day, Kim has mapped out that it will only take us a couple of hours to drive to Paris, France. So, Paris, HERE WE COME!!!!! L-R: Kim, Heather, me & Tammy
We have reached Notre Dame! It is way more impressive than you can even imagine and it left us speechless!
Here I am outside of Notre Dame!
As we enter the cathedral, there is a quiet reverence that fills you with awe.
Here are the girls leaving Notre Dame. Next stop - La Tour Eiffel!
Look everyone! I'm here at the Eiffel Tower!
Today is Tammy's birthday and we sing Happy Birthday to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower!
Here is where we eat dinner, complete with a view of the Eiffel Tower!
We zip on over in front of the Louvre to ride the "PARIS WHEEL!"
Connecticut (still a Virginia gal at heart!), United States
I've been so blessed to have such a wonderful life! It's because of pageants that I even realized my full performance potential. After I became involved in the Miss Virginia America preliminaries, I was encouraged by many to sing. (My first talent was comedy!) I then became part of the Miss VA U.S.O. Troupe. I moved from my home in VA to Connecticut and became a member of the Miss CT U.S.O. Troupe and subsequently, a Liberty Miss. I was blessed to tour 6 times to over 15 countries performing for our Troops. In 2000, another Liberty Miss and I formed The Glory Girls and we've performed for our Veterans ever since. I also act, dance and serve my community and have logged over 7,000 volunteer hours!
Also in 2000, I met my wonderful husband, David; we were married in 2003; and had our first child, Delilah, in 2005. I still enjoy pageants to this day and thank my lucky stars for the doors that they opened! I am constantly updating my websites below, so feel free to keep checking back. (It takes a loooong time to scan all those photos in!)
(P.S.: Everyone says that I'll probably be the oldest pageant queen/U.S.O. performer in the world! I think I'm okay with that!)
