West Haven VA Salute To Veterans Week - The Glory Girls - February 17, 2002

Our first show of the new year! We appeared at West Haven VA Hospital in honor of Salute to Veterans Week, which is always the week of Valentine's. Nick DeSerbo of CT AMVETS Post 9 was instrumental in helping us coordinate today's show. They were also there with pizza, dessert and BINGO for the Veterans!
L-R: Chelsea's Little Sister - Tonya, Chelsea, Sherry, Jenn, Amanda, Stacy, Emily and Kimberly Stacy and Kimberly introduce the newest members and the special guest performers for today's show.
Kimberly and Stacy perform an old favorite - the Andrew Sisters medley. It has some of their best known songs including, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree, Bei Meir Bist Du Schoen, and Apple Blossom Time. The audience always enjoys this medley and they sing along to prove it!
As Kimberly sings the ballad Apple Blossom Time, she picks an old friend from CT AMVETS Post 9 to dance with. He was a great dancer and smooth on his feet. But, alas, she had to return him to his wife and continue with the show!
One of our newest Glory Girls, Jenn, came out next for a solo performance. The audience enjoyed her performance.

Kimberly and Stacy returned for the American medley in their red, white and blue sparkle star shirts. Our first featured solo performer was Chelsea. She brought a little bit of country flair to our show with Honey, I'm Home by Shania Twain. She packs a big voice in a little body and the Veterans loved her! Our next featured solo performer was Sherry. She wowed the audience with her beautiful voice. She presented Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific. Sherry had also performed the National Anthem at the beginning of our show.
Stacy and Kimberly returned to the stage to bring that Motown sound to our friends. They were singing and clapping along to many famous tunes. Stacy and Kimberly's next medley boasts over 20 songs in under 6 minutes and features fast songs and catchy choreography! The Veterans usually have a great time trying to name them all afterwards and today was no exception! Our next featured solo performer brought a different spin to our audience - literally! Emily performed her award winning gymnastic routine to music from CATS. Our next Glory Girl is Amanda. She wowed the audience with her rendition of Linda Eder's Big Time. Kimberly returned to the stage for one last solo before we ended our show. In honor of Salute to Veterans Week and Valentine's Day, she performed the Linda Eder hit I'm Afraid This Must Be Love. She certainly had many Veteran Valentine's this day!
The show ended with The Glory Girls performing God Bless The U.S.A. to honor our Servicewomen and Servicemen and to say THANK YOU! We also thanked the West Haven VA and their staff, Nick DeSerbo and the CT AMVETS of Post 9 for all their help in coordinating today's efforts.
