Mrs. Connecticut America - June 7, 2009

I decided to try one last time for Mrs. Connecticut America. I was happy to see Melanie, who toured with me and The Liberty Misses in Summer, 2000. She was also Miss Connecticut U.S.A. just two years ago. She ended up winning and I was very happy for her! We were able to share a few laughs and reminesce!

Morris Memorial Day Parade - Morris, Connecticut - May 25, 2009

Next stop - Morris! My hometown parade was up next and so we lined up and were ready to go.
These horses are soooo tall!
Delilah decided to ride on the float with us. She practiced her singing before the parade started.
Here she is in the parade singing and a saluting! We also were asked to participate in the festivities on the green after the parade. We sang God Bless The U.S.A. for the crowd. It was a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! Christina even made it in the Republican-American newspaper.

Waterbury Memorial Day Parade - Waterbury, Connecticut - May 24, 2009

Memorial Day weekend is always a busy one for me and for The Glory Girls and this year is no exception.
We started our holiday weekend on Sunday with the Waterbury Memorial Day Parade.
Miss Nutmeg, Christina Sciongay, joined us on the float as we performed in the parade.
We were happy to see old friend Spencer Parrish after the parade.
L-R: Christina Sciongay, Miss Nutmeg 2009; Stacy Perrone-Petta, Miss CT America 1996 and E.D. for Miss Greater Waterbury/Miss Brass City; Spencer Parrish, former E.D. for Miss Greater Waterbury; Jillian Vollentine, former Miss Greater Waterbury and me.
Here is our "Princess Delilah." She rode along waving her flag for everyone to see!
Afterwards, we joined the Waterbury Veterans Committee on the green for the presentations.
Here I am with the famous Ziggy of Waterbury. He often can be seen waving the flag around our city.
We were asked to sing God Bless The U.S.A.
We were honored to take photos with the Gold Star Mothers.
Miss Greater Waterbury, Amber Caron and Miss Brass City, Dana Brooks were also there.

Waterbury Memorial Veterans Dinner - Ponte Club, Waterbury, Connecticut - May 20, 2009

I was invited to perform the national anthem and God Bless The U.S.A. at the annual Waterbury Memorial Veterans Dinner. Miss Nutmeg, Christina Sciongay joined me for God Bless The U.S.A.
Here we are with Wendy D'Occhio (left). Her husband is one of the coordinators of the event.
While we were setting up, we took some great photos.
Here we are with one of the committee members and coordinator of the Waterbury Memorial Day Parade, Veteran John Sarlo.

Here we are having fun at the dinner table.
With my cute hubby, David.
While they presented the last of the awards, Christina and I made our way up front to get ready to sing God Bless The U.S.A. to the Veterans that were honored that evening. We had a great evening and I got to see a lot of old friends and introduce Miss Nutmeg to a lot of new friends!
Here's Veteran Marine, Sam Beamon. Sam is also a past honoree.
I also introduced her to the Committee President, Col. John Chiarella.
He's a regular jokester and had us all laughing, including my Father-In-Law, Dave!
We had the chance to say hello to old friends, the Honorable Mayor Michael Jarjura (Waterbury) and to the Honorable Mayor Thomas Dunn (Wolcott).
Another lovely guest that evening was American Legion Auxiliary Past President, Elaine Gravelin. She is from Prospect and she was an absolute delight to meet! We had a wonderful time and can't wait for the parade on Sunday!
